THE TRACKS TO RECOVERY

Home: Welcome

ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY

When a rail fatality occurs, who are our immediate thoughts usually for?

The victim, their family, their friends?

What about the unsuspecting and powerless driver, when do we think of them? And what support is available to assist in their recovery?

The Tracks to Recovery is a seven minute documentary exploring the journey to recovery two train drivers took after witnessing suicide at work and the support available to them afterwards.

The piece, aimed at BBC Outlook, aims to highlight the support out there for train drivers following a railway fatality so that they know that they are not alone and they can and will get better.

BBC Outlook describe their podcasts as being “inspirational stories of amazing people defying the odds, reacting to extreme adversity by doing good, improving lives and very often saving them”.

I hope that my documentary will inspire train drivers to seek help if they are struggling with trauma.
